Aims and Scope:

International Journal of Impotence Research: The Journal of Sexual Medicine publishes research on male and female sexual dysfunction. International and multidisciplinary in scope, the journal provides opportunities for communication among scholars, researchers, and practitioners and supports the highest standards of ethics and professionalism in research, education, and clinical practice of sexual medicine.

International Journal of Impotence Research: The Journal of Sexual Medicine is unique, as it is the first journal to address sexual medicine for both genders as an interdisciplinary field. As sexual medicine develops further, the changes will be reflected in the content of the journal. Thus, this publication will continue to address the needs of its readership while expanding the scope of the readership to encompass the full circle of sexual medicine.

Urologists, impotence specialists, vascular surgeons, basic science researchers, endocrinologists, family practitioners, gynaecologists, internists, neurologists, cardiologists, family practice physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, radiologists, sex therapists, and other health care clinicians.

  • Original articles - the latest research in the field of sexual medicine addressing a wide range of areas, including: clinical; treatment; basic science; and special problems. Focus is on both male and female sexual dysfunction and related topics including: diabetes; peyronie⿿s disease; blunt trauma; hypertension; and menopause.
  • Reviews - commissioned from leaders in the field, Reviews vary in length depending on the topic addressed. All reviews are supplemented with glossary explanations and highlighted references that are accompanied by an explanation as to why these references are essential reading.
  • Case Reports - an in-depth look into a study of individuals with sexual dysfunction. Includes confirmatory reports of previously described phenomena that either contain a novel finding or are of such magnitude to enhance the field.
  • Letters to the Editor -correspondence between readers, authors, and the community. Letters to the editor deal with subjects that have recently been addressed in the journal or can introduce new topics.
