Aims and Scope: The Journal of Human Genetics seeks to promote research from all aspects of human genetics, including medical genetics and genomics. The journal accepts molecular, clinical or cytogenetic research articles, short communications, letters to the editor and reviews.

Topics of particular interest within the journal's scope include, but are not limited to: medical genetics, human genome analysis, gene cloning and mapping, linkage and association analyses, mutational analysis, susceptibility genes to multifactorial disorders, human evolution, cancer genetics, gene therapy, genetic and functional analysis of animal models of disease or behaviour, genetic polymorphisms of biologically important genes, novel mutations found in patients with hereditary diseases, novel mutations found in cancer cells and population genetics.

Readership: The Journal of Human Genetics appeals to human geneticists, clinical geneticists, cancer geneticists and systems biologists.
