Aims and Scope:
Vital has been informing and entertaining dental care professionals (DCPs) since 2003 - it was the FIRST magazine established specifically for the whole dental team. From male dental nurses to oral health educators to therapists working in Australia, the magazine has aimed to provide something for every member of the team. At a time when there is so much change in the profession, Vital helps to raise the profile of DCPs throughout the UK, giving all dental team members a voice and a source of much needed information and debate.
Readership:
Dental hygienists, dental nurses, dental therapists, dental receptionists, practice managers and dental technicians.
Regular features include:
- Perspectives - A range of topical issues reviewed by different members of the dental team. Recent focuses have included discussion on compulsory CPD, dealing with difficult patients, and the future prospects for the dental team.
- GDC Registration issues - Vital has been particularly praised for its coverage of GDC registration issues and it has featured invaluable guides to registration procedures and overcoming problems for all members of the dental team.
- Vital Guides... - The Vital Guide to... series began in 2006 and has been a particularly popular addition to Vital's regular features. It introduces the terms and concepts of specialist areas of dentistry and has already covered endodontics, aesthetics and adhesive dentistry.
The series not only provides an accessible and useful point of reference - it also has some CPD questions attached to it, in anticipation of future mandatory CPD for DCPs. - Practice Issues - The essential practicalities of working in todays dental practice with a broad range of coverage including items such as improving access for the disabled patient and model practice confidentiality policy.
- Professional Development - Highly topical articles which reflect the major changes in the demand for ongoing professional development, including CPD.
- PLUS... - A regular four-page lifestyle section, letters, news, reviews, diary section and prize crossword.
What makes Vital stand apart from other dental magazines?
- Breadth and diversity - The dental team consists of a diverse group of people and Vital's content reflects precisely the nature of the whole team - from dental hygienists to dental nurses, from dental therapists to practice managers, from dental receptionists to dental technicians.
- Accessible and Topical - When time is short DCPs can be assured that the articles in Vital combine both topicality and accessibility, combining essential information on their professional development with an exciting and highly visual layout.
